Honda CB750C 81-82 Mongrel!

Ummm, this was something I wanted to do for a long time and it appeared that the ‘right’ bike came along, so I’m a proud owner of a 1981 &  1982 Mongrel Honda CB750C.  I had to goto the forums to figure out what this bike actually was and what it turns out to be a 1981 frame with 1982 CB750C parts on it.  Why it’s like that, I know not, I’ll probably never know, but this is what I got.  I would say that this is called one of them life learnin’ experiences.  Nice – thank you life.  What’s the saying, “When it’s too good to be true, it probably it is…”  I thought I had a lightly ridden 1981 CB750C, but instead it’s a who knows what.  Remind me not to do that again:-)

It’s not without a few issues.  Seems the brake caliper piston is stuck on the right front brake caliper and I’m looking for a new piston set.  Also, the throttle housing needs to be fixed down to the handle bar a little more securely.  But, otherwise, seems like a decent enough bike so far.  Hoping it won’t start on fire and burn anything down:-)

Also, needs an oil change so have oil and an oil filter on the way.

Oil:  Castro 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil, Part Synthetic
Oil Filter:  Fram CH6009

Also, ordered a couple other things to keep the bike running in tip-top shape:

DOT 3 Brake Fluid
Sta-Bil Fuel Stabilizer, to keep the carbs in good shape
